Secret Blogger Swap: The BIG Reveal

Earlier in the month, I announced that I was coordinating a Secret Blogger Swap. When I first launched the idea, I only expected about 30 bloggers to sign up. So you can imagine that I was blown away when 90+ fabulous ladies signed up to participate! This swap was so successful and I'm definitely planning on doing another one soon, so stay tuned.

For the Secret Blogger swap, everyone who signed up was given a person's name of who they would be sending their package too. They were also provided with that blogger's URL and five of their favorite things to get to know them better. Each blogger was also assigned someone who would be sending a package to them, but this part was meant to be a secret.

The purpose of this swap was to have fun and meet some new bloggers. Speaking from my own perspective, I read about 40 blogs each and every day. Then there are the other 60 some blogs that I have signed up in my GFC or Bloglovin feed that I read throughout the week.

Even though I read about 100 blogs per week, I'm always looking for some new ones. I love meeting new bloggers, especially those in your own blogging "niche" which is why I thought this swap was such a great idea.

Now for the fun part...

Today is the BIG reveal! So go ahead and link up your posts below on what you received in your package. Feel free to include that person's blog URL, pictures of your package, who you sent to, etc. The possibilities are endless. I just hope you all had fun doing this!

If you'd like to be a part of the next Secret Blogger Swap, be sure to sign up for the e-mail list HERE. I'll be sending out more details later on!

More Sponsor Changes

At the beginning of the month, I introduced some new sponsor changes that were taking place. I introduced the new Welcome Wednesday posts and the Ultimate ad space which have both gone over really well with bloggers and shops alike! Now that May is almost over, I thought I'd talk a little bit more about some other changes coming up soon.

First off...the BOGO promo (click for details) has so far been a huge success and I've met so many new blogs and shops because of it. I'm telling you, I've got some really fabulous sponsors in the upcoming months that you are going to love!

You'll also notice on my sponsor page that advertising rates have gone up! Earlier I mentioned that rates wouldn't be raised until July and that's still the case. But since all my spots for June are full, even if you purchase an ad now it won't go up until July or later for the more popular spots.

This was the best way I could think of to even the playing field for everyone. It wouldn't be fair for someone to purchase the XL ad space at the June rate now and then a different person purchase that same spot in the end of June and pay a higher price. So the prices posted are effective immediately.

The "perks" of each ad space have changed a little bit too so be sure to read what your ad space includes before you purchase. Just be sure you choose an ad space that is right for you and be sure to know what you will and will not get out of it. For example, starting in July the Medium ad space will become a sidebar only ad with the option to participate in the group giveaway. But it will no longer be included in the Welcome Wednesday posts or have social media mentions.

Also starting in June, there will no longer be the monthly sponsor post at the end of the month. When I introduced the Welcome Wednesday posts, the idea was for those to replace the monthly round ups.

Last, but certainly not least...

If you have been a sponsor of Framed Frosting in the past I would LOVE to have you back for another month! I love promoting each and every one of you but I tend to have a soft spot for my recurring sponsors. So feel free to send me an e-mail and I can get you set up with a promo code!

I hope you all know that I appreciate each and everyone of you.

I also appreciate my Sponsors who support me each month. For some of them, it's their first month here on the blog. While for others, they have been with me the past couple months and seen the blog grow. I am thankful for each and every one of them, because this blog would not be functioning with them. To me, they are more than sponsors. They're not just buying ad space and hosting giveaways, but we're building relationships and I love that. Without further ado, check these ladies out!

Meet Lauren from Enjoying the Journey

Hello Framed Frosting Readers! It has been such a joy to be a sponsor this month!  Danielle’s blog is so much fun and I enjoy reading it just as much as all of you, her lovely readers!

I’m Lauren and I blog over at Enjoying the Journey and my Etsy shop is Enjoying the JourneyTX. By day I am a practicing interior designer and by night I design every other aspect of life. I love creating new things, designing new things, and most of all sharing these things with the people I love. My blog and Etsy shop are an outlet for me to share my designs outside of the corporate world.

You will find posts on all kinds of topics on my blog such as:

-Interior design (I am constantly in search of the perfect room)
-Jewelry (From Etsy and other beautiful items I am currently oohing and ahhing over)
-Small town life (I may work in the city, but my life is in my small town)
-Family (They are my world and my all)
-My Faith (For who would I be without my Lord and Savior)

My shop is a labor of love and such a joy to have.  I have always enjoyed making jewelry and crafting, and the shop is a way for me to share my creations with others outside of my small town.  I enjoy using wire, hemp, glass beads and the occasional pearl.  Everything in my shop is something that not only would I wear, but something that I would share with my friends and family.  And hopefully you!

Thanks for reading and be sure to check out my links

Meet Laura from Our Reflection

Today I have the pleasure of introducing Laura from Our Reflection. This girl does it all. She works a full-time job, is a mother to two gorgeous daughter, and is a fabulous photographer. And she finds time to blog on top of that! Absolutely amazing. She is amazing.

Without further ado, Laura is here to share a little bit more about herself.

A little about me. I’m a full-time working mom of two amazing daughters and an admirable, encouraging husband who are my life. I am, regrettably, a bit addicted to social media. I have a constant connection with Facebook and Twitter wherever I am. I love Starbucks, the colors pink and yellow, mountain biking, and listening to the piano.

When I’m not working my 8-5 or being “mommy”, I’m a lifestyle photographer based out of Monterey, California. In my mind, I am ALWAYS thinking about photography. It never ends. My brain takes snapshots everywhere I go. You can check out some of my work here!

Describe your parenting style in one word:
Devoted

The phrase you use most often at home:
When life gets to hard to stand, kneel.

What's ALWAYS in your fridge:
Hazelnut Coffee Creamer {never without}

The last meal you made for your family:
Lemon herb chicken, scalloped potatoes, and green beans.

The trait you hope your kiddos don't inherit:
My tongue. Something I'm working so hard at correcting, but I need to learn to be slow to speak and quick to listen instead of vice versa.

Your guilty pleasure:
Starbucks Grande Non-Fat Peppermint Mocha with Whip {it can make any day a better day}

Song you are currently singing out loud and in your head:
Chris Tomlin - And if our God is for us...

I told you Laura was amazing! She has also offered to do a giveaway for you fabulous people. One lucky reader will win this Pro-Weave Beachcomber Bag! (And yellow happens to be her favorite color!)

This giveaway is open internationally.
However, the winner will be responsible for shipping costs if not in the US.

Blog // Twitter // Facebook

About Me: Red Letter Paper Company was born from the fact that my husband and I always struggled at Christmas to find cards that honored Christ's birth while at the same time being ... cool. In August 2010, I started RLPCo, designing Christian cards with a modern edge. It expanded quickly past Christmas into cards for lots of occasions, and art prints, too. Basing the business on 1 Corinthians 10:31, creating cards has allowed me to share my faith and provide a service for others who also wanted a little less glitter and a little more faith.

May Birchbox: Why I Cancelled

As many of you know, I've been doing Birchbox reviews on the blog since last August. However, you may have noticed I haven't done a review since February's box and thought I'd share my reasons why.

First off, my March and April Birchboxes were absolutely terrible. When I signed up for Birchbox, I expected to get samples of high-end beauty products. Instead, I ended up getting a ton of perfume samples and weird extras like vitamin C drink mixes and other non-beauty products.

For March, I opted in to receive the Teen Vogue box. The box included a full size Essie polish (which I adore) and a twistband but those were really the only items I enjoyed. I was disappointed in the Tarte lipstain because of it's bright pink color which did in no way go with my skin tone. I really wish they would consider your beauty profile (skin tone, eye color, etc.) when shipping samples in various colors.

But overall, the box was worth the $10 because of the Essie polish alone.

Then my April box arrived and it was the worst box I had ever received. In fact, I did not even open the box to take pictures. Instead, I sold the box on eBay because I was that unhappy with it. The samples included were ones I would never use and I just felt like it was a complete waste of $10.

At the end of April, I decided that May would be my last month with Birchbox no matter what. I wanted to stick around for the Gossip Girl box, but after that I was done for good.

Well, last week my May box arrived and I am happy with the decision I made. For a limited edition box, I was pretty disappointed in the samples. This box will also be going up on eBay in the hopes that someone else will enjoy it more than me!

One thing I did really love about Birchbox though was their point systems. I have yet to come across another beauty subscription service with the same type of loyalty program for their customers.

In March, I started saving up my points in anticipation of maybe cancelling my box. I wanted to be able to cash in my points for a big ticket item like the Tocca Stella perfume, rather than just having a few dollars off a purchase.

So this is the end of my Birchbox reviews. As a college student with a limited budget, I just don't see a point in spending $10 a month on a box I won't enjoy. What is your experience with Birchbox?
