2011 Besties: Part One

With the year coming to an end, I thought it would be fun to do a post about the products I’ve reached for most this year. I’m always trying out new products and sometimes that means finding new products that you love! Over the next week or so, I’ll be posting my 2011 Besties in three parts.

*Part One: For the Eyes*

1/ ULTA Automatic Eyeliner in Charcoal

– earlier in the year, I read an article that said girls with blue or green eyes should use grey eyeliner because it’s not as harsh in appearance as black. I was making a trip to ULTA anyways so I picked up this cheap eyeliner to test it out. It became my favorite and quickly replaced my brown and black eyeliners!

– Daybreak is my favorite eyeshadow for everyday use. It’s a gorgeous light champagne color with some shimmer. It’s also great to use as a highlighter near the brow for a neutral smokey eye look.

– this is a great eyelid primer. It helps set your eyeshadow and makes it last all day. I also find that it prevents creasing when you place it beneath cream eye shadows. This primer comes in colors too, but I prefer the original formula.

4/ Various Mascaras – Covergirl, Clinique, L’Oreal

– mascaras for me are something I can never decide on. I’m always testing out new ones, but can never find one that I like 100%. This year I tried Covergirl Lash Blast, Clinique High Impact, and L’Oreal Voluminous Million Dollar Lashes. All three were great in their own ways but I’m not sold on any of them. Please let me know if you have any mascara recommendations!

– this is the only make-up remover I’ve ever used. It takes off all my eye make-up off in one swipe, yet doesn’t sting or irritate my eyes. It’s also great on a cotton round to remove all your foundation.

Great picks for your “Eye Besties”! I also use Clinique’s Take the Day Off to remove my eye makeup & I love it. Some of my fave mascaras are Benefit’s They’re Real & Hourglass’s Film Noir.

In regards to the comment you left over on our blog asking about the Sephora Collection Precision Sponge, I wanted to let you know that I ended up not loving it. Maybe I just never took the time to really figure out how to use it, but I just find that using my fingertips to apply foundation is the most efficient. I know that lots of people rave about the Beauty Blender, if you want to spend $20 on it.

Thanks for stopping by our blog! We hope you’ll visit again soon! :)
