Fall Trends to Try

Tonight I spent a couple hours cleaning out my closet. I wouldn't say I'm a pack rat, but I am a pro of keeping clothes thinking I'll eventually wear them. However, tonight when I looked in my closet I knew some of them just had to go. Which ones though? Well, I figured that I would pull out all the ones that I haven't worn in 6 months or more. I ended up pulling out a few short sleeve tops, about 15 long sleeve tops/cardigans, and 5 pairs of jeans that no longer fit. There is still more sorting out to do, but I'm leaving that for a later day.

This fall, I am really going to try and focus on buying practical pieces. Before I buy an item I'm forcing myself to enforce this rule: Can I think of 3 outfits this can make? If so, then that item is mine to purchase. However, if I cannot think of some outfits off the top of my head, I'm going to do my best to pass on that item. So with that said, here are a few staples I already know I need...

- skinny jeans
- bootcut jeans
- fall boots (preferrably brown)
- decorative black belt
- structured blazer
- striped sweater

I'm hoping these pictures below will give me some inspiration with my particular pieces. Now, if Autumn would just get here a little sooner... Fall Trends to Try

Celeb Style for Less: Kim Kardashian

With August soon approaching I thought it would be fun to do another Celeb Style outfit. I don't know about you, but I am sick and tired of this 100+ degree weather. I absolutely can't wait for fall. It's my favorite season because the leaves are turning colors and I'm busting out my scarf collection. (Pssst: I plan to photograph that soon so you can all see what I'm talking about!)

Anyways, here's a look of Kim Kardashian's that I'm definitely going to be trying out this fall.

Celeb Style for Less: Jennifer Aniston

I'm going to see Horrible Bosses tonight and thought it would be fun to re-create a Jennifer Aniston look. I have always loved the simplicity of her style. She can wear a t-shirt, jeans, and a scarf and look like a million bucks. However, for a simple summer look I thought this ensemble would work the best. So here it goes -- my re-creation of Jennifer Aniston's look for at least $300 cheaper. The whole outfit is broken down based on prices at the end.

ORIGINAL

= accessories ALONE are worth $1,315!

MY RE-CREATION
Jennifer Aniston

 1. Fossil Maddox watch - $95.00
3. New York & Company belt - $13.96 {on sale}
6. GAP Broken-in Skimmers - $24.99 {on sale}
= TOTAL outfit costs $247.88
(compared to the 3 item total above of $1,315!)
