Just when you thought I had fallen off this earth, here I am. Now, this post isn’t just any old post to let you all know I’m still alive. Nope, it’s this month’s Birchbox post! I get so excited about these little pink boxes every month. There’s just something about expected, yet surprise gifts that blow my mind. So without further ado, let’s see what I got this month!
This month’s theme was Getting Gifty. Birchbox thought it would be a good idea to introduce some cool products right before Christmas, in hopes of us buying them for friends or ourselves. I love this idea and just gifts in general. Ask anyone that knows me. I am a gift genius. I start planning the majority of my Christmas gifts in October and by the end of November, I have bought most of them. Gift giving is just something I’m really good at and I enjoy it too!
My Sample Price: $2.12 for 0.8 fl. oz
I haven’t used this product yet and to be honest, I don’t plan on it. It has cornflower in it which I don’t think will react well with my skin. Also, I’m pretty dedicated to my lovely purple bottle of Clinique make-up remover and don’t plan on changing it up.
My Sample Price: $3.37 for 0.65 oz
I haven’t used this product yet but I’m so excited to. I love trying new body scrubs. I haven’t heard of LaROCCA before, but they obviously know what they’re doing. This scrub smells amazing and it features 24K colloidal gold. What girl wouldn’t like that?
My Sample Price: $5
I haven’t used this product yet but I’m definitely planning on it. First off, this smells awesome. The Birchbox card says it’s jasmine and that is one of my favorite scents. The bottle says you can use it on dry hair to restyle with hot tools or on damp hair as a detangler and fortifier. I’m excited to try out both ways!
4/ Zoya Nail Polish in Noel
My Sample Price: $4 for 0.25 fl. oz.
In the past few years, I haven’t been a nail polish sorta girl. That is until recently, I found some great fall colours a couple weeks ago and have been wearing so many cool shades. I can’t wait to try this one out. When I do, I’ll post it as well as the other colors I’ve been using so look for that!
TREAT/ Chuao Chocolatier Firecracker Chocopods
My Sample Price:84 cents for 0.39 oz
When I saw this in my box, I was a little confused at first. Birchbox hasn’t ever done treats before so it threw me off, but I think it’s a great idea! So as for this chocolate bar, it was wickedly awesome, but weird too. The bar is dark chocolate (my favorite) so I was very excited about that, until I read with Chipotle. I hate how people think they can mix spices with chocolate but this one isn’t too bad. You don’t taste much of it because your focused on the “popping sensation”. Yep, you heard me right. It’s like they combined Pop Rocks with a chocolate bar. It actually makes me wonder why people didn’t think of this combination before now.
**Other flavors are available on their website**
Bauble Bar Black Wood Pop Bracelet – $20 (no longer in stock)
When I opened my box and found this, I was sooo tempted to open it first! For those of you who aren’t familiar with BaubleBar, it’s an online jewelry website. They sell some absolutely amazing pieces (very large collection) and they are quite affordable ranging from $15 to $40, depending on the piece. The bracelet I received retails for $20 on their website. That’s double what I paid for my box, so it was definitely worth the money. That bracelet is gorgeous.
I was very excited that Birchbox included this in my box! However, I don’t think everyone got one. My card says “Thank you for referring friends, giving feedback, or buying products in our shop. Your reward: some in-box bling (a sweet BaubleBar bracelet) and, of course, your hard-earned Birchbox Points.”
So you girls will have to let me know if you got a bracelet in your box or not. And if you did, I’d love to know if yours is the same design as mine. I personally love the black bracelet. It will go with everything!
